About Mesh & Mazel
Two rabbis. Two generations. One shared group chat full of canvases we wished existed.
We’re Sari and Yael, two rabbis, friends, and co-founders of Mesh & Mazel. Yael is a longtime stitcher with a background in graphic design and a doctorate in Taylor Swift. Sari is a newer stitcher with lots of opinions and a deep, possibly unnecessary, trove of pop-culture knowledge.
When it came to Jewish needlepoint, we kept wanting things we couldn’t find—canvases that felt more like us. Deeply Jewish, here for the memes, always up for a mahj game, nostalgic for sleepaway camp, and never more than one conversation away from a Taylor Swift reference. So we started designing the canvases we wanted to stitch ourselves.
As rabbis, we spend our lives thinking about how Jewish tradition lives and evolves. With Mesh & Mazel, we wanted to bring some of that same love—and a little irreverence—to the canvas.
Our canvases are Jewish because we are. But good needlepoint is good needlepoint—and everyone’s invited to stitch.
Thoroughly modern needlepoint. Big Jewish energy. Powered by iced coffee.
